LA COMPRAVENDITA by Alessandro De Pascale
Alessandro De Pascale has gathered documents and legal cases to analyze the backstage of the last twenty years of government  in Italy. The book is a faithful report of extortions, blackmails, frauds and even a kidnapping revealed by phone calls and interviews.
THE AUTHOR – Alessandro De Pascale is a journalist which mainly focus his reports on judiciary account and organized criminality. After writing for  «La Nuova Ecologia», monthly magazine of Legambiente, he now collaborates with the magazines «Left-Avvenimenti» , «La Voce delle Voci», «Il Punto» and the TV show  «Terra». Among his books are TelecamorraGuerra tra clan per il controllo dell’etere (2012) and Il caso Parolisi. Sesso, droga e Afghanistan (with Antonio Parisi, 2013).

Rich in anecdotes, characters,  facts and  events, the book  is a brilliant report of our country from the days of hunger at the end of the second world war till the rediscovery of healthy food  nowadays. It is the vision of Italy according to a culinary expert who describes the Italian crisis from a culinary point of view, describing  kitchen tables and restaurants, government and supermarkets. And recipes, of course.
THE AUTHOR – Roberta Corradin was born in Susa in 1964. After attending Liceo d’Azeglio a Torino, she started working for comic magazines: «Lupo Alberto», «Cattivik», «Sturmtruppen», «Blue», and  «Linus». She has worked for several woman magazine and in 1995 publishes her first book, Ho fatto un pan pepato… ricette di cucina emotiva (Zelig). Other books include Un attimo, sono nuda, una storia umoristica misoginaLe cuoche che volevo diventare ; Tradizione Gusto Passione (with Paola Rancati). She collaborates as a travel and culinary expert for  «l’Espresso», «Gambero Rosso», «D La Repubblica delle donne», and now, in Sicily, she also runs a farm and a restaurant at Donnalucata together with her husband .

The American journalist who mostly knows our country  analyses  the Italian crisis answering the usual question every Italian asks himself: how could the 5th worldly power of the 1980s fall into such a deep crisis? The economic depression is due to Geman policy? To the introduction of the euro? To its mediocre managers? Is there a “recipe” to solve the situation? Friedamn interviews the  great protagonists of Italian policy  – Giuliano Amato, Romano Prodi, Silvio Berlusconi, Massimo D’Alema, Mario Monti and Matteo Renzi –  and highlights the possibility  of a solution
THE AUTHOR – Alan Friedman (1956 – ), American journalist and media executive, after his economic and legal studies, collaborated with president Jimmy Carter  and worked for the Financial Times of London, as a banking correspondent and a foreign correspondent in Italy and the United States. His television career began in the early 1980s and he  appeared on various Italian channels. His production as a writer includes Agnelli and the Network of Italian Power (1988); Spider’s Web: The Secret History of How the White House Illegally Armed Iraq (1993).

Nick Bilton himself describes his book as a fascinating story from the beginning to the end. Today none of them has the control of the company which is run by Dick Costolo, a fifty-year-old former comedian.
THE AUTHOR – Nick Bilton technology and business columnist of New  York Times is the author of two books I live in the Future and Here’s how it Works and Hatching Twitter, voted Best Book of the Year on The Wall Street Journal Readers Choice and currently being turned into a TV series.

The Monuments Men were a group of men and women from thirteen nations, who volunteered for service in the newly created Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives section, or MFAA. Most had expertise as museum directors, curators, art scholars and educators, artists, architects, and archivists. Their job description was simple: to save as much of the culture of Europe as they could during combat. They have saved masterpieces by  Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello, Vermeer, Rembrandt, van Eyck and many others. And thanks to this book their story has been unveiled . George Clooney has adapted the book into a film directed by himself – Monuments Men (2014) – starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman e Hugh Bonneville.
THE AUTHOR – After a brilliant career in oil companies, Robert Edsel came  to know the existence of these brave and highly educated men while in Florence in the late 1990s.  From that moment on he has totally devoted his research to go deeper into the issue gathering a great quantity of documents and art items.  He has founded the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of the Art, awarded with the National Humanities Medal, has co- produced the documentary film The Rape of Europe, about the Nazi’s  art robberies and has written the book  Rescuing Da Vinci.

The pages of historical and literary books have always shown common citizens rebelling against the power. The protagonist of this book is a businessman who has rebelled against banks: he has started eight legal actions against eight different banks, two already won. He compares banks usurers.
THE AUTHOR – Mario Bortoletto (1949 – ) has been running a building firm since 1972. He describes his financial problems since  2004, when he started suffering from the effects of the great crisis of our country and our banking system started exploiting him.
